Out the door AGAIN!
Well, it's been a while since I've blogged; just so many things going on right now! I'm on my way out the door to E. Washington, where I will be saying "good-bye" as an SU! upline to my downline over there, but, not good-bye as FRIENDS! I'm looking forward to seeing these gals as it has been a while since we got together, given the mountains and all that I *know*, in my heart, I am making the decision that is best for me, in my circumstances, but, must admit that it rather feels like I'm cutting off my arm. I'm not sure how to describe it any other way.
I believe it has to do with devoting over 9 years of my life to this, and definitely a "fear", if you will, of losing the friends and relationships I've come to know BECAUSE of it. And, yup, that's the scariest part of all of it. I am wishing, and hoping, with every bit of myself, that that will not be the case.
Let go, it'll be alright. It'll be alright. If I keep telling myself that, it will be, right?! (grin)
Here's one of the projects I'm bringing for them to do, a very "clean" altered clipboard.
I never like doing anything overly complicated or time-consuming, so I didn't paint the darn thing! I actually just stamped my card stock, rounded the corners, and then sent it through my Xyron for adhesive. I also don't like fumes from spray adhesive, and Modge Podge takes so long to dry for an impatient girl like m'self. chuckle!
The calendar was computer generated, and I deliberately left some area blank, so I could clip a photo to the left side like the quote I have on the right. I kinda like clipping it that way, because I can swap out the quotes as I find different ones that inspire me!
This one is from the SU! set Friendship Flowers, and reads "Success if not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts."--Winston Churchill.
I like that. It moves and inspires me to carry on, especially when I feel like I'm "going nowhere". And to remember that success doesn't come and rest permanently at your door; ya' gotta make it happen, and continue to strive for it.
The flowers used are from Heartfelt Thanks, one of my all-time favoritest stamp sets ever, and I used Craft Inks in Rose Red, Summer Sun, Chocolate Chip, and Bashful Blue, and heat set them. The card stock used is Barely Banana.
The cork was actually secured with craft Glue Dots, which are holding VERY strongly, to my surprise. And, I split the Post It Note in half, so it would not be so bulky and heavy when secured to the board.
The black clip is from the office supply store, and the thumbtacks I just happened to have laying around--prolly from the hardware store. I *could* have made custom thumbtacks, yadda yadda, but I wanted this project to be 20/25 minutes max. That's me: always thinking about quick, easy, and whatever shortcuts I can take on my path to instant gratification! chortle!
I also have been meaning to post this fun Holiday design, using A Muse Art Stamps' "host" image. Here you see it used for a New Year's greeting or invitation:
BUT, look below to see how cheeky fun he is for a Halloween card, too!!! OK, so mebbe my sense of humor is a bit wacko, but seriously, I do think it's funny! ROTFLMBO!
See what I mean? I used a teeny tiny bit of foam mounting tape to make the head appear to almost be levetating!
Gives new meaning to the expression, "I'll have your head on a platter!"
Bwah ha haaaaaaaa.
OK, enough sillies. I must get out the door and down the road. It's going to be another rubbah-filled weekend of FUN!!! I'll share more about the things we did, and the projects we stamped, etc. when I get back.
Hope everybody gets to have a stamp-happy weekend!

Ohh, I love the clipboard! Do you sell them?

There is never any grass growin' under your feet woman! Have a great time with your DL and remember, the best part about closing a door is that it means there will be another to open. :D

Hi Julie,
I just did the same thing. It's scarey but real friends are there no matter what. You have opened the door to new things and I wish you well!

Best wishes on your journey and success outside of SU. You're amazing and can do ANYTHING! :) It's the passion we have that counts, not the company behind us. :)

AmyR & Sarah V on their blogs. Then I came to Julie's and there was a new one too! Julie, I know more success is waiting for you around the corner even without SU! I'm sure the friendships you've made will be last beyond SU! because you are way too talented & fun!
