I only had 15 minutes to crank out a birthday card for Taylor, and I just loved Novell's Little Rocker Dude design and knew it would be perfect for that kid of mine who's been jammin' with his Guitar Hero game of late.
Here's the inside of the card, which made Taylor laugh because, well, he's 5' 5 1/2" now (I'm only 5' 2" . . . his dad is 6') . . . 12. Twelve. The T-man is only TWELVE!!!

So, what does a 12 yr. old boy hope and wish for on his birthday? Certainly not these:
Um, Mom . . . ? . . . why does this box say it's from A Muse???
MOM???!!!!
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Socks.
Seriously? Socks??!!
MOM!!!
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
BOXERS???!!!!!!!
Aaaawwwwe, man (!) . . . I cannot believe this . . .
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
(The look on his face pretty much says it all . . . )
iPod Nano -->
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Thanks, Dad!!!
Awe, gee, thanks, too, Mom! ![]()
(notice how even tho he's hugging his father, he cannot take his eyes off the iPod . . . )

You should have seen his face the night before . . . when we told him that after a lot of thought we'd decided to get him a savings bond . . . and how gratifying it would be years from now . . . *chuckle*
I know--we're just so wicked!

I love wicked parents (now that I am one)
Belated happy birthday, Taylor!

Happy Birthday Taylor! Wonderful cards MOM! What a lucky guy to have such a cool mom. **wink**wink**
Julie I just *love* the rocker dude card. How do you get the spot light effect on him like that? Do you use a marker or is it an ink pad? Inquiring minds want to know... LOL!!!

Okay, have you heard the phrase "Dude! - uh, I mean, Mom!" because "Dude!" is the Universal Salute unless addressing the Prehistoric Ones (parents)?
Thanks for sharing the Happy Day! Loved the card!

loved your card and the photos of your son were priceless. we used to do similar things to our son on his birthday.
the socks and boxers reminds me of a story my husband tells. he only went to summer camp once in his young life. he was 10 and received a care package from home. after seeing what other boys had received earlier in the month, he was anxious to share with all his friends.
needless to say he was embarrassed and very disappointed when his mom had sent clean undershirts and briefs.
my husband stills talks about that to this day.

Bwahaha. My oldest turns 12 in September. We did the iPod thing for Xmas, though, so I have no idea what we will do for this year. Yikes! THese darn spoiled kids! LOL. Happy to have inspired you, especially since you inspire me on a regular basis. tee hee
