More Than Chocolate . . .

I just wanted to thank all of you that left such kind comments about my recent video attempt.  And, my hands.  LOL!  I'm always embarrassed over my crafter's hands, and even more so on the rare occasion I go in for a manicure because the poor nail tech has nothin' but nubs to work with.

 

I really love the Modern Woodblock stamp--it's just such a great multi-use image!

I used it to make "chocolates"!  Looky!

I KNOW!!! (best Monica voice)  (arms wrapped 'round self, deep chortling)

How'd I do that?  Well . . .

 I love chocolate.  A lot.  But, the nice thing about paper chocolates is that they don't have any calories . . .

Moxie Fab World: The Gray is the New Black Challenge Winners

I don't often have time to play the challenges. But this time I did, and I really enjoyed making this entry.

The other winning entries are each so cool--if you have a chance, check them out! I found them so inspiring!

I'm practicing.

I've heard people say that video editing and encoding is easy.  FALSE! 

I'm teaching myself to do this, and I think I have aged considerably in the research, trial and error process.  Remember when I tweeted about Dyson and his 5,000+ failures?  Yeah.  That's what I was talkin' 'bout.

I'm getting there, albeit like molasses on a frozen pipe.  Not for lack of desire, mind you. I just don't know didley about video.

They say as we attempt to acquire and master new technology, productivity goes down. WAAAAAAY down.  Yup!

Then, once mastered, productivity soars skyward.  I'm still waiting for that to happen.  For that Step 1, Step 2, Step 3 and BINGO!!! High quality video packed into a less-than-monolith sized file.

But, I'm nothin', if not persistent. *wink*

This video was supposed to go with yesterday's post.  But, I gave up in the wee hours trying to get the dang settings right for the encoding so the end result wasn't total crap.  I'm not even going to tell you how many times I tried. Because you would then ask me if I was daft. And, at that hour, I would have to swear I was indeed. *chuckle*

Hope you enjoy, cuz Hades could indeed freeze over before I ever find the magic formula . . .

You should try making one of these.  Not cuz I said so, of course.  But, because they are actually pretty fun.  And, easy.  I like fun. I like easy.  Don't you? *big cheesy grin*

. . . making one more with grey--slate, in this case, which is rich and oh-so-yummy!

Pink and grey . . . such opposites, and yet so good together!  Disclaimer:  I'm no good with a color wheel. And color theory?  Well, the fact is that it tends to go in one ear and out the other for me. And, I'm OK with it because I use this method: If my eyes happens to like a combo they stumble across, and squeal "I likey!", cha-CHING!!! (OK, technically, eyes don't squeal and it'd be gross if they actually did, but you *know* what I mean)

Is there a name for that? My methodology of choosing color combos, I mean . . .?

I digress . . .

Anyhoo, the Moxie Fab Challenge "Grey Is The New Black" had me hankerin' to make one more design with grey, just for the halibut.        *snarf*

Don't those Bursting Blooms look so purdy in pink?  White gold glitter was the poifect compliment--it's actually more sparkly IRL.  *LOVE*  One of these days I'll figure out how to get the lighting and angle right on the camera lens to capture it proper.

I'm not sure my obsession with grey is gonna end here . . . methinks it will endure . . . good thing I got the 50 sheet pack . . . LOL!

Oy!  It's been faaaaar too busy around here! Had to sit down and make sumpin' before I went off the deep end.  Cuz it's not pretty when I go . . . LOL!

I noticed on the Moxie Fab blog there is a challenge for the color grey.  "Innovative" use of the color grey, to be precise.

I dunno if this qualifies, but I'm playing along anyway. *wink*

The stamping is pretty simplistic--a beautiful rose spray image I've had for some time and just love, stamped in a gorgeous muted green, and paired with a band of faux suede, made from dyed grey card stock.

I know, I know.  It's an old, old, older than the hills trick technique.  But, hopefully it looks fresh, with silver metallic cord, that gorgeous hue of green, and some clear bling for a little extra plush. *grin* 

If you've never made faux suede before, it's very easy.  Cut a strip or piece of dyed card stock to the desired size and give it the "ribbon curling treatment" with a bone folder:

You know--when you run a piece of curling ribbon between your thumb and your scissors and it curls the ribbon?  That's what you're gonna do with that piece of card stock, only instead of scissors, you are using a bone folder.

This busts up the paper fibers in the center core of the card stock and it should started to separate into two layers.  Peel them apart completely, and you'll see inside that the core has become "sueded".  Just apply adhesive to the smooth side, and mount it to your project with the "sueded" side up.

Try it!  You'll like it!
