After I made one, I had to make another! I could make a lot of these--they make me quite bouncey!
Someone asked about a tutorial, but it's really no more complicated than simple stamping--it's the combination of image, pigment ink and paper that simulates the look, along with the way the ink is applied to the image; you need a very smooth application of ink to get the most "Letterpress-like" results on the Bristol.
You could try using a brayer to roll the ink onto the stamp image, but I had sponge daubers within easy reach, so I used those instead. I reserve each one for a different color, so I never have to wash them out. Plus, by using them, I wouldn't have to clean the brayer. LOL! *sheepish grin* CLEVER MEEEEEEEE!!!!
Now, I will say that I just inked the dotted pattern directly with the pad because the dots are quite tiny and I didn't think it would make a difference, but I did sponge the ink onto the cake and the sentiment to make sure I had an ultra-smooth coating. It worked just fine! *monkey clapping*
If you get a little zealous with the daubing, when you're finished inking the image itself, just take a baby wipe or a damp Q-tip to wipe outer edges of rubber clean so you don't get any stray ink marks when you stamp.
*must make more*
