Happy WCMD!!! I'm so excited I got to PLAY and actually make a card for today! *grin*
I have a challenge for today going on over at the CLASSroom, in honor of the day--if you haven't been yet, go check it out! Then, get inky!!! Ellen Hutson is sponsoring some pretty AMAZING prizes!!!
I'm loving this color palette of late--can't seem to get enough of it!
I actually stamped over the Manila version of this Basic Grey 6x6 Paper, but the Memorandum 6x6 Tiny Tablet (currently in my shopping cart!!!) has some very similar papers that could be swapped in perfectly, as well! Which is why it's in my shopping cart! LOL!
These pretty flowers remind me of the rosemaling my mama used to do years ago! I am totally sending this card to her as I know she will flip! :)
I gotta point out some cool things about this lovely Floral stamp set by Hero Arts/Sizzix! I ADORE the look of things fussy cut and 3D mounted for dimension, but I have tendinitis in my right hand/arm, so sometimes fussy cutting can really wear my arm out. This darling stamp set banishes that issue for me and I can pop up the flowers to my hearts content, because the set comes with matching dies!
The stamps are cushioned with cling mount foam, and the dies are unusual in that the cut line is smack along the inside edge of the die itself, which enables you to get a very "tight" die cut edge all around your stamped image. Easy, beautiful results! *monkey clapping*
I finished off the card by highlighting the centers of the popped up flowers with my Black Glaze pen--love that thing for quick, glossy dimension!
(arms wrapped 'round self, deep chortling!)
Enjoy WCMD!!!
