Spring Garden (playing with fun new stamps & my Washi tape addiction, Part 2)

Rainboots

OK, so I didn't bring any patterned papers with me to the retreat. BUT, a sweet new friend across from me had some 6x6" pads, and shared some! The Brioche Paper by Memory Box had this perfect pattern in colors that matched the floral tape I'd brought with me. Unfortunately, the floral Washi tape shown above is no longer being made by Cath Kidston.  Boo.

The Spring Garden set has the CA-YOOT-EST wellies, and I thought they would look darling if I paper pieced them, so that's what I did with the right facing boot, to make a pair. The boot in the foreground was popped up for dimension. I was a little hesitant with the black & white diagonal striped Washi tape--kind of an unlikely combination, I suppose, but it just seemed to work, and I think I let out a squeal, LOL!

Tulip
Another sweet new friend from across the room shared some manila tags she'd brought, and I used that to stamp and watercolor the tulip from the Spring Garden set (I just tapped some water-based dye inks against an acrylic block and picked up color with my waterbrush to paint. I love Dew Drop size pads when I travel because I can easily take a lot of colors with me).

What looks like polka dot ribbon is actually Washi tape folded in half on itself, and used the same way ribbon would have been on the tag. But, it lays so nice and flat--no bulk when mailing!  A little more of that floral Washi Tape on the tag ties all the elements together with color.

Love the overall feminine/pretty look these ended up having! *happy sighing*

For more info on Washi, please see my previous post HERE.

Note: The Hero Arts set with the "feel better soon" sentiment has been retired. *sob*  It was one of my faves and most oft-used because I just loved the little tiny sentiments that fit for so many different occasions.

Must buy Washi tape too..don't have any......

These cards are so adorable. I'm so impressed with your creativity even with limited supplies. This stamp set is so cute, just love how you paper pierced the boots.

I LOVE those boots!!! It's amazing what you can do with the simplest supplies! Love them both.

Just love these cards. So simple and cute. Makes me want to play with my washi tape.

OMG!!! I am in love with the Wellies card how adorable...hugs

So pretty! You rock!

Absolutely adorable and sweet! Just like you! (awwww) Hope you are having a great week! XO

Thanks for sharing such cute cards. I gasped when I saw all the pretty washi tape in Pretty Tape (Etsy). Oh my, this will be a bad habit for me!

Loving these washi tape ideas! Ever since I first saw it I've been trying to brainstorm creative ways to use it for paper crafting... Thank you for the inspiration!

These little rainy boots are just darling, and love your Washi tape madness!

Yummy!

Your really have been busy creating lovely cards. I like the use of the washi tape.
Eveline.

OOPS - I meant "now", not "not"!

I NEED that floral tape too!!! And I think you did let out a squeal - I love the little wellies!!! You and Lisa have not gotten all of us hooked on washi tape!

these cards with their pattern papers and washi tapes are simply scrumdiddlyumptious!!

cutest cards ever.

Lovely cards. I'm going to have a look for washi tape. I didn't realize it came in so many patterns. Too bad the floral one is discontinued and the stamp set, too. Just when we get to a point where we need to replace an item, we often find it is no longer available, but I'm sure there is something out there that will fill the bill. This is certainly a hobby that has an abundance of products to play with.

They're both adorable. I especially love those wellies.

these are adorable Julie!!

Love love love these - and I NEED that floral tape. So sweet & pretty. Sigh. I was hoping your cardmaking magic would rub off on me last weekend but I'm still the same ol' me. hahahaha
